An 83-year-old woman who was struck down by a car in Atherton last week has died.
The woman was struck by a ute while she was on the zebra crossing near the corner of Main Street and Vernon Street Atherton around 10 am Tuesday 18 of February.
The woman was initially transported to the Atherton hospital but was then flown to Townsville Hospital where she passed away on Sunday morning.
It’s believed that the accident victim received serious head injuries due to the accident.
Forensic Crash Unit investigations are ongoing, and the 59-year old male driver is assisting police.
