A re-shuffling of the back line due to the suspension of Ben Stabile, the debut of Jack Centofanti, the club’s youth goal keeper and local gun John Ghensi saw a much improved performance from the home side.
“We kept a clean sheet, we concentrated for the full ninety minutes and took our chances when they came,” said Perry.
“We have done a lot of hard work at training and it’s paying off, Jack had his debut and did quite well. The boys are beginning to have that belief in the system we are playing and in their own ability.
“We have the players that can make an impact, the injury to Captain Jamie Carroll was the only sour note to come out of the match, but we will assess the situation for the match on Sunday against Stratford.
“It was good to see Jamie get a goal under his belt and the win will give everyone a boost and confidence going into the next match.”
Central defender Alex Plowman said keeping a clean sheet was important.
“We were disappointed last week, we played well but things didn’t go out way, this win will do the boys a world of good.”
Goals form Robert Pendenza, Jamie Carroll, Darcy McCormack and Bronson Koppen sealed a 4-0 win the Bulls.
In the reserve grade, Damian Wildman scored the only goal in what was a tight affair with chances few and far between and the win keeps their 100% record intact.
In the ladies premier division the lady Bulls collected their first win of the season with a thumping 4-2 win over their Innisfail counterparts, while the youth side got bashed in their encounter going down 3-0 to the Cutters.
On Friday night The Bulls Fillies had a narrow loss to JCU Strikers going down 4-3 and the Men’s second division kept up their early season form to pick up a 5-2 win against JCU.
This weekend the Bulls are at home again and host the Stratford Dolphins in all grades with matches to be played on Sunday April 14. The Fillies and second division play away in the Tableland derby against the Atherton Eagles from 6.30pm.
