We are celebrating 10 years of supplying free and independent news to the Tablelands.

To celebrate we’re been searching for the best of the Tablelands and for the past week (and also because it was Valentine’s Day!) we asked where was the best Restaurant on Tablelands.

You have voted Obi’s in Mareeba as the best restaurant on the Tablelands!

Restaurant owners Vanessa Harris and Obi Oberhauser are honoured to be recognised for the hard work they put into their business and into the food.

“Winning this means a lot because it means all the hard work we’ve been putting into it has paid off,” Obi said.

“Especially with the launch of Obi’s in Mareeba we’ve had amazing support from our regulars and locals.”

Obi attributed his current success to ‘taking care of locals’

“We pride ourselves on using fresh local ingredients as well as making sure our local customers are comfortable and satisfied,” he said.

“We look after the locals and strive to use the best ingredients we can.”

Obi’s will also be launching a new menu starting soon, with a local lunch menu also being launched.

Now we want to know what is the best tourist attraction on the Tablelands?

If you had friends coming to stay what is the one attraction you would show them or take them too?

It could be a free natural location or a local commercial venture.

Vote now on our Facebook page or on 4092 3464 or email us at editorial@theexpressnewspaper.com.au

Winners will be announced Monday 24 February.
