The Mareeba Shire Business Resilience & Digital Capability Program will begin from 24 November with a series of fully-funded workshops for every level from total beginners to operators wanting to hone their skills.

Organised by the Mareeba Council and Visit Mareeba Shire, the workshops will offer practical training for businesses to harness the many ways locals and visitors use Google listing, website, reviews and social media to look for businesses or plan trips.

The workshops are being conducted by Tourism Tribe, a nationally recognised digital upskilling organisation.

Topics will include step-by-step actions to present a professional business online; practical digital tools needed for resilience and marketing; online reputation management; setting up and improving a Google business profile; how to use AI; social media tips for working with algorithms; and website improvements.

Every participating business will get a Digital Engagement Health CheckTM - a personalised report (not an automated printout) prepared by a digital strategist. Websites, Google, Facebook, Instagram, TripAdvisor and more are assessed for how they’re performing, what’s missing, and what can be fixed to attract more customers.

Apart from the group workshops, participating businesses will have the chance for one-on-one mentoring and digital support from industry-leading coaches, as well as six months access to Tourism Tribe’s online training and community for six months. This includes a self-paced course library and twice-monthly group calls.

The first workshop – Business Resilience and Digital Essentials – will be held at Kuranda on Monday 24 November at the Kuranda Community Centre (above the Library), 9am–1pm; and at Mareeba on Tuesday 25 November at the Mareeba Shire Library Tech Room, 9am–1pm.

Workshop 2 - Digital & AI Tools for Business Growth – will be held in March 2026, with dates to be announced.

Places are limited so register at: www.tourismtribe.com/programs/mareeba-2025

The initiative is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements – Business Resilience Partnership Program.
