Grants to help small businesses to expand
SMALL and medium-sized businesses on the Tablelands have another opportunity to secure grants of up to $50,000 to help them grow and create jobs.
Last year, seven businesses in the Far North Queensland region shared in more than $320,000 of the grants.
They included a farming and horticulture operations in Mareeba and the Tablelands, an engineering company in Cairns, a Palm Cove pharmacy, a construction company based on Moa Island in the Torres Strait and a company based in Weipa servicing vehicles.
Minister for Employment and Small Business Di Farmer said the latest round of Business Growth Fund grants had a total of $2 million available to help established Queensland businesses expand.
“This is the fourth round of Business Growth Fund grants that help high-growth small and medium-sized businesses to buy highly specialised equipment to accelerate growth,” Minister Farmer said.
To make it as easy as possible for more businesses to apply, the application process had been simplified and streamlined. Businesses can submit Expressions of Interest from 31 May.
