Publishers of the Mareeba Blue Care Phone Book have donated a $3000 cheque to Blue Care after the release of their 2021 edition.

Every phone number in Mareeba Shire is listed, and a free copy of the phone book has now been delivered to every household, farm and business in Mareeba and surrounding areas.

A total of 8,400 of the annual fund-raiser books have been distributed for Blue Care and a total of $479,000 has now been raised because of the annual Mareeba and Atherton Telephone Guides.

Blue Care inserts a fund-raising letter and return-envelope in each book, and the credit card facility included in the letter makes it even easier for people to donate.

The Blue Care Nurses visit more than 150 people a week in their homes and travel on average 1,500 kilometres a week between Walkamin, Dimbulah, Mareeba and Kuranda.

All donations received are used locally to assist in keeping Blue Care Mareeba on the road.

The local phone guides are bound in green-coloured hardwearing laminated covers, and they list every phone number in Mareeba Shire in large print.

The Business Guide in the same book is a comprehensive alphabetical presentation of almost every conceivable product and service available in Mareeba Shire, including fifteen new categories this year.
