Marshall to hit the stage at the ORB

MUSIC enthusiasts will have the chance to see one of Britain’s most well-respected blues artists as Bex Marshall will be touring the Tablelands this weekend.

Marshall, who is returning to perform in Australia for the first time since 2010, boasts an impressive resume which most notably includes winning the Best British Blues Vocalist poll at the UK Blues Awards and being a four-time nominee at the European Blues Awards.

Marshall is known for having a unique style which consists of a combined technique of slide, blues rock with electric ragtime and roots pickin’, a style which has garnered multiple headlining acts across the globe over her nearly two-decade professional career.

Marshall said she has been waiting for eight years to come back to Australia.

“As soon as I touched down a few days ago it all came flooding back to me – it’s an amazing place full of great musicians and it’s my type of culture,” she said.

“I’m also excited to play in more of a remote place like the Tablelands, a lot of the time they’re more interesting gigs.”

Marshall said she will be playing a combination of music from her three previous records.

“The songs I’ll be playing are all being presented as a three piece power trio format which makes them different from the recordings and much more powerful,” she said.

For those interested in seeing Bex Marshall perform this weekend, she will be playing at the ORB at 2 Main Street, Atherton from 7:30pm. More information can be found at tablelandsmusiclovers.org.au
