The Rotary FNQ Field Days has officially opened after a special opening ceremony was held earlier today.

At 1pm members of the public heard from FNQ Rotary Field Days President Trevor Duncan as well as some significant contributors to the events activities.

The ceremony was followed by a short agricultural demonstration contains tractors of all shapes and sizes, then a bobcat skill show by local contractor and bobcat whiz, Rex Petersen.

Mr Duncan said that despite a rainy start to the event it was not enough to dampen people’s spirits.

“We are at least at the level of the last event if not above, despite a shower of rain that went across earlier today,” he said.

“It’s been brilliant there is a good buzz around the park today, there has been people in all of the isles all morning.

“People can look forward to the tractor pull, the bobcat skills show and the business tent with Mary O’Brian from ‘Are you bogged mate’.”

For more information on events going on over the next couple of days at the field days don’t forget to grab a copy of their official guide.
