Local affordable art

Local art lovers looking to invest in some local affordable art, are in for a treat after Dimbulah artist Gioia Dalla Lana opened her “affordable art” exhibition at Gallery 86 at the Mareeba Art Society Building in Centenary Park.

Local art lovers looking to invest in some local affordable art, are in for a treat after Dimbulah artist Gioia Dalla Lana opened her “affordable art” exhibition at Gallery 86 at the Mareeba Art Society Building in Centenary Park Mareeba

The official opening was on Friday, March 5 and the exhibition will stay open until the end of March or until everything is sold.

Gioia Dalla Lana is a local artist who runs monthly introductory art classes the Art Society and most of the painting were ex-demos.

“When I’m running the art classes, I always like to give a step-by-step demonstration and these are some of the demonstrations that I have kept over the years,” she said.

Ms Dalla Lana said the most expensive paintings were $100. “Most of the paintings are in the 20-to-30-dollar range, and the cheapest are 10 dollars.” she said.

“We have lost of paintings of local bush, animals and flowers and there are ever 70 painting up for sale and the exhibition will run until the end of March.”

Gallery 86 is beside the Mareeba Art society building in Centenary Park and is open 7 days a week between 10 and 2pm, entry is free.
