‘100 jobs in 100 days’’ is an ambitious project launched by QITE, one of the norths largest providers of employment services in the region.

The program is designed to place 100 local unemployed people into full time or part time work in just 100 days with employers that have vacancies within their organisations.

Since the program began in early May, 42 job hunters have been placed into full time employment from QITE’s office network which includes Mareeba, Cairns, Atherton and Innisfail.

QITE General Manager Jillian Trout believes that this program will not only help job seekers find jobs but also help lift and stimulate local spirits as COVID-19 restrictions begin to ease.

“This project gives locals the opportunity to register with us and we can assist them in finding jobs,” she said

“This program helps create jobs and activity in what is currently a soft job market.

“It is also a feel good initiative that shows the community that not all things are doom and gloom.”

With many businesses still reeling from COVID-19’s adverse effects on the economy, many locals are still out of work and a program like this is the first step to rebuilding Mareeba’s economy.

With just over half of the 100 jobs being sort remaining, employers are encouraged to come forward and offer positions and seekers are encouraged to register their interest for employment.
