Owner Vanessa Harris said they were booked out all weekend “Friday and Saturday we were completely booked out and this coming weekend is close to booking out.”

“We were really nervous about reopening, it was like starting a brand new business, it was a bit nerve-racking," she said

“Everyone has said that they are so happy, we have reopened and that they can now go somewhere for dinner.”

Vanessa said that due to COVID they’ve had to make some changes to the Obi’s dining experience.

“It’s a new concept as we have limited seating for 20 people and only two sittings per night. We normally like our customers to take their time and linger and enjoy their dining experience.

“We also need to keep to the social distancing rules between tables, We have to keep a record of everyone that comes in, and we’ve had to put up signage reminding people of social distancing, It’s been a big learning curve.”

Vanessa also admits during the time off they’ve had time to make some changes to the menu.

“Some of the old favourites are still there but we have some exciting new items on the menu as well.”

“We have a pork belly wonton on our entrée menu which is fantastic, it’s the stand out new menu item”
