THE Great Northern Bullriding Series hit the ground running last weekend with one of their biggest events to date.

The sold out bullride was a huge success with non stop action in the arena.

With the bulls raring and raging to go not many riders stood a chance except for current leader of the 2020 title, Raymond Provost who held his own and really showed why he is one of the top bull riders in the country.

With over 2000 people attending, the numbers were well over the expectations of organiser Peter Brown.

“The bulls dominated the night because they were just too fresh,” he said.

“Raymond put on one of the best rides I’ve seen on a really good bull.

“It all went well, Dee Jaye Bux played into the wee hours of the night and no one got any sleep.”

With only 2200 tickets up for sale Mr Brown said that they could have doubled that number over the weekend with more than 4000 people eager to see the bulls bucking.

With some restrictions easing last Friday people attending the event were able to stand around the bar and have a beer which was a welcome change for many.
