With the ongoing Australian bushfires eradicating habitats and food for native animals across the country AJ Hackett Cairns have decided to suit up and donate.

In partnership with The Rescue Collective AJ Hackett Cairns is holding “Jump for Hope”; a charity jump day this coming Sunday February 2.

Jumpers can choose to suit up in an animal suit for their jump to raise money for a worthy cause.

Face painting and live music will also be available on the day with a one dollar gold coin donation breakfast being offered.

$30 from every Bungy Jump and Giant Jungle Swing will be donated directly to The Rescue Collective; ticket prices for these activities have also been discounted.

AJ Hackett’s goal is to get 100 people to jump on the day and also raise $5,000 for The Rescue Foundation.

AJ Hackett General Manager Daniel Hughes is excited for the event and is encouraging others to come along and “enjoy the atmosphere.”

“It really is a family friendly event as there are lots of activities for all ages and for the whole family to enjoy,” he said.

“We are hoping for 100 people to jump on the day but with all the other activities being offered we are expecting to see about 500 onsite.

“Come along have a drink and a feed and help raise money for a good cause.”

The idea for the “Jump for Hope” event was brought to AJ Hackett by a Cairns local and The Rescue Collective volunteer; Lucy Friend.

The Rescue Collective approached AJ Hackett and proposed the idea.

“We are really just a platform for them to help raise money,” Mr Hughes said.

“We are volunteer run so we can be confident about where the money is going.

“We are also watching the forecast for the day but its looking good with 0-10ml of rain being forecast.”

“Jump for Hope” will run from 8am into the early evening at the AJ Hackett Cairns facility at the end of McGregor Road near Smithfield.
