With residents stuck at home and isolated from their friends and families, flowers are making a big comeback and delivering joy to those stuck at home.

Florists across the Tablelands have seen a huge increase in flower sales with locals wanting to send flowers to those who need it and put a smile on their faces.

Love via flowers is making people happy, especially elderly residents who are unable to visit family, while their sons or daughters cannot visit them either.

Locals have decided to do what they can to spread love and joy from their own homes, often in the form of flowers or gifts to be delivered.

Deborah Boardman from Love Them Flowers has seen a massive increase in sales and has been working nonstop for months.

“I’ve had people request flowers for their elderly neighbour who is having a tough time in isolation,” she said.

“Grandchildren sending their Grandmother flowers at the nursing home because they can’t go and see them.

“I was even doing up bouquets for Easter with little Easter eggs in them; in the three years I’ve been doing this I’ve never had so many orders for Easter.”

Mrs Boardman has said that she has even been doing personalised bouquets and gifts during this time, often venturing into pharmacies to by perfume and other gifts to go with the flowers.

With Mother’s Day rapidly approaching Mrs Boardman suspects it’s going to be the biggest one ever for flower shops across the Tablelands.
