MEMBERS from the Mareeba Gymnastics Club recently competed in the Junior State Championships in Brisbane.

The championships featured clubs from all around the state competing against each other for a spot on the podium.

Mareeba Gymnastics Club coaching director Kelly Tulloch was extremely proud of all the gymnasts.

“It was an amazing experience and the kids had some great performances,” she said.

“We got some kids up on the podium which was nice, but everyone performed exceptionally.

“Everyone represented the club wonderfully.”

Mrs Tulloch was also impressed with the gymnasts who fell in their performances and got back up.

“We had a couple of falls and it was great to see them get back up and keep going,” she said.

“Everyone preformed with beautiful grace, strength and balance.

“It was a wonderful thing to see.”

Mrs Tulloch also expressed her gratitude to the parents of the gymnasts.

“I would like to thank all the parents and coaches of the club,” she said.

“The parents had to fund the trips themselves which can become quite expensive.

“I’d also like to thank the gymnasts who worked hard every day – persistence does pay off.”
