NAIDOC week’s grants round open
Communities across the far north are being encouraged to apply for NAIDOC week grants under this year’s funding round.
Communities across the far north are being encouraged to apply for NAIDOC week grants under this year’s funding round.
The NAIDOC week grants support communities to celebrate the histories, cultures and achievement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander peoples, and the costs associated.
Funding is available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations to help meet the costs of NAIDOC week activities.
The theme for this years NAIDOC week is Always Was, Always Will Be.
Federal Leichhardt MP Warren Entsch is calling on communities to get involved in the funding to help showcase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.
“NAIDOC week serves as a unifying time to be proud of the fact that we have one of the world’s oldest continuous cultures and vibrant traditions that are uniquely Australian,” he said.
“Events will be held to celebrate our nations proud history, share culture, and recognise and honour the contributions and achievements of Indigenous Australians.
“It is also a chance to build mutual respect and for truth telling, and the learning that comes from that.”

Applications close Monday, 30 March at 8pm Australian eastern daylight savings time.
