Scarecrow festival back in town
The biennial Tolga Scarecrow Festival is back on the 2020 calendar after a year’s hiatus.

The Tolga Scarecrow Festival focuses on family fun, old fashioned games and much more.
The festival was scrapped in 2019 due to the absence of a committee, this year however things are looking up with the festival having the backing of the Atherton Chamber of Commerce.
A new committee will be voted in to help organise the event at the upcoming planning meeting on the 29th of February.
Interested parties are encouraged to register their expressions of interest for Volunteers, Committee Members, Entertainment and Sponsors and Stallholders.
The planning meeting location will be held after expressions of interest are shown through registrations on their website.
Tolga Scarecrow Festival Organiser Tamara Taylor is hoping to see enthusiastic people putting their hands up.
“I’m overjoyed by the support of the Atherton Chamber of Commerce, allowing the Tolga Scarecrow Festival to return in 2020,” she said.
“It’s a wonderful family orientated festival bringing the community together and celebrating our region, farming background and local businesses.
“We encourage anyone to volunteer who is interested in joining a progressive, fun-loving, community-minded group of people.”
No previous knowledge or skills are necessary.
