Singles champion crowned
IT was a battle between Tiraboschi’s recently as the Mareeba Bowls Club held their singles competition with a father and son going head-to-head in the finals.

Played at the club’s world class green at the Cedric Davies Hub, 10 bowlers all lined up for a shot at the number one spot.
Round one saw Barry Pitson defeat Peter Soda and Barry Lynne triumph over Rob Brown, in round two, Peter Stevens, Barry Lynne, Vittorio and Ettore Tiraboshi all advanced.
In the third round, the Tiraboshi duo came out on top and went to settle it in the final round of the championship, youth against experience.
The two battled it out on the green to declare the best bowler in their family, besides wife and mother Santina who was marking the game.
Vittorio held his nerve to stave off the might of his son Ettore and was crowned the Mareeba Bowls Club 2022 Singles Champion.
