Try your hand at netball
TO kick off the 2022 netball season, Mareeba Netball Association is hosting a come and try and sign on day this Saturday.
Netball courts will be brimming with players over the coming weeks as the local season kicks in February.
This weekend is a chance for all new and old players to come along, have some fun and try the game.
The day also gives people a chance to sign up if they are struggling through the online system.
Mareeba Netball Association president Michelle Cifuentes said the club is excited for the season ahead and is encouraging people to come along this Saturday.
“We’re encouraging our junior players to come along, get on the court again and touch the ball – any new players or players that are unsure are welcome to come along and have a go,” she said.
“At the same time, we will be working with people who are interested in coaching and showing them how to run drills and get organised to run a session with kids.
“Not only are we improving our player base but we are encouraging people to jump into coaching roles with the association.”
The come and try/sign on day will be held at the netball courts at Davies Park from 9am to 11am.
