Walsh sets new record

MAREEBA State School (MSS) student has made history after beating a 34-year-old record and becoming the new king of the 200 metre sprint race.

MAREEBA State School (MSS) student has made history after beating a 34-year-old record and becoming the new king of the 200 metre sprint race.

At the recent MSS athletics carnival, 11-year-old student Colin Walsh took out many first place positions and even got age champion, this however was not his biggest achievement. 

Colin ended up breaking a 200 metre record that was set in 1987 with a time of 28.69 seconds, a record which Colin beat with a time of 28.24 seconds.
