SEVERAL Mareeba Junior Gladiators players have sharpened their skills after recently competing for representative sides in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

Tyler Srhoj, Jake Bombardieri, Cain Hastie, Cayde Miller and Chase Sheppard have all returned from representative duties the wiser and have gained invaluable experience.

Tyler, Jake, Cayde and Chase played in the U12 State School Boys Championships in Brisbane while Cain played on the Sunshine Coast for the U14 division.

Junior Gladiators player Cain Hastie was happy with his performance in the squad.

“I thought I went alright,” he said.

“It was a lot bigger and a lot faster compared to the club level.

“This experience has showed me what standard everybody is at and what you’ve got to be at.”

Bryce Fincham and Sawyer Nehow were selected for the U13 NQ development squad in Townsville preparing the boys for what rep has to offer.

All boys involved will be pushing hard for next year’s selection with Cain hoping to make the Queensland side.
