QUEENSLAND Cricket has finalised its selection process for the 2019-20 Youth Pathway Academy, the squad has commenced training and will continue for nine months.

QUEENSLAND Cricket has finalised its selection process for the 2019-20 Youth Pathway Academy, the squad has commenced training and will continue for nine months.

Male and female players between the ages of 13-15 across all regions of Queensland were selected. The academy is designed to fast track and oversees the development of the players giving them the best chance of success at Youth Championships, First Class and International Cricket.

Mareeba Cricket Club team member Angus Campman has been one of three players selected together with Amy Hunter and Talytha Macdonald of Atherton Cricket Club.

Angus is excited to start training.

“It’ll be tough and fun, hopefully I’ll learn a lot from it and improve,” he said.

“I was excited when I found out I was picked.

“I’ll take some stuff back to club level and hopefully it will help me go further.”

The nine month training program from June 2019 to March 2020 will feature personalised programs for both groups and individuals.

Proud mum Kylie Campman said,

“It’s a bit exciting, he’s been working hard, It was a goal he had and now he’s reached it it’s going to be a full on experience so he’s got to be dedicated and focused.”
