THE Motocross State Championship podium has reserved a seat for local motocross rider Jessie Holder after his recent exploits at round one of the championships in Townsville.

Jessie competed in two divisions claiming a spot on the podium for each division; Jessie won first in the 13-15 Junior Light 2 Stroke division and second in the 13-16 Junior Light 4 Stroke division.

Jessie’s father Chris was ecstatic about his son’s performance.

“It’s unbelievable,” he said.

“Being the youngest in the division he did really well.

“He recently received a new bike that he rode for the first time the Wednesday prior to the titles.”

The second round of the state titles will be held in Toowoomba on July 20 and 21 and if successful he will be “in the running” for the state championship honour.

Jessie was excited about his recent experience.

“It was a really good time, I loved it.”

“I expected to get podium but to get first is just unbelievable.

“I would like to thank all my sponsors especially Mareeba Yamaha for hooking me up with the new bike.”
