TWO Showjumping sisters have returned from a dominating run in Southern Queensland returning with five championships shared between them.

Olivia and Jamie Hewitt-Toms are Speewah locals who have been riding since they were two and three years old respectively and have competed in many competitions right across Australia.

Recently they both competed in the 2020 PCQ State Showjumping and Equitation Competition at Beaudesert representing Far North QLD Pony Clubs and the Pryde’s EasiFeed Interschool State Championships in Toowoomba.

The sisters completely blew the competition out of the water with Jamie placing as the highest Showjumper at the State Interschool Competition and Olivia being the highest placed Showjumper at the PCQ State competition.

Jamie was excited to have done so well but also said that the competition was still fierce.

“It was great this was our first big competition for the year so it was good to get back out and get such good results,” she said.

“The competition was really good it was top notch.

“The competition was harder than it had been in previous years because they opened up the qualifications so more people could come.”

Jamie dominated her competition being the 100 and 110cm Overall Champion and the 90 and 120cm Reserve Champion.

Her sister won the 90cm intermediate becoming the Overall Champion and came 3rd overall in the 100cm intermediate.

Next up for the duo are the regular local competitions before they finish out for the year and prepare for 2021’s championships.
