Multinational chocolate company Cadbury have pledged to donate the profits from their Caramello Koala, Freddo Frog, and Furry Friends chocolate ranges to help Australia's bushfire affected wildlife.

The 'Freddo and Friends for Bushfire Relief' initiative was announced on Friday, with the company saying 100 per cent of the profits from those items would go to wildlife foundations across the country for the next week.

A spokesperson for the company said: "Our hearts go out to all that have been affected by the devastating bushfires. The impact on families, homes and the environment is truly devastating.

"Like all that have been affected, our precious and much-loved native wildlife has suffered incredibly."

Zoos Victoria, Taronga Zoo Sydney, and Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park were specifically named as organisations that would receive funds.

Cadbury also said it would donate food supplies to Foodbank Australia and emergency services personnel.

The World Wildlife Fund estimates that about 1.25 billion animals have perished in Australia's bushfires.
