There was an unprecedented growth in caravan sales in Queensland over the past 12-24 months with an 82 per cent increase in new recreational vehicles including caravans, campervans, camper trailers and motorhomes.

With so many new ‘carafans’ hitting the roads over the Christmas break Caravanning Queensland has offered seven safety and preparation trips for unblooded caravaners.

“There will be hundreds of new caravan and motorhomes hitting the road for the first time over the summer holiday period with many first-time ‘cara-fans’ excited to test out their recent purchases,” Caravanning Queensland Trade CEO Jason Plant said.

“With the increase in new product and users on the road, it’s especially important that travellers understand the do’s and don’ts and prepare well in advance, to ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday.”
