Search operation, Lake Tinaroo

A search operation has taken place at Lake Tinaroo following the disappearance of a 49-year-old man who was swimming with his two children yesterday.

It is believed the man was helping the children back to shore when he failed to resurface.

The children were assessed by paramedics on scene and were not physically injured.

Assets deployed to assist in the search yesterday include police on foot, water police, QGAIR Rescue 510 helicopter, QFES, the dive squad along with members of the public on boats and jet skis.

The search continued until approximately 11pm overnight and reconvened at first light this morning.

The search is ongoing today utilising police including water police and the dive squad along with SES volunteers, drones and QFES swift water rescue.
