ATHERTON RIFLE CLUB 

Results from the Atherton Rifle Club on Sunday 30th January at 800 yards on a misty day with fish tail winds at times. “F” Open: Tom Murray 125.6. “F” Standard: Richard Butt 124.7, Steve Barkworth 122.7, Ralph Loesche 122.5, Trixie Loesche 120.5, Gary Moss 118.5, Bradley Barkworth 116.3, Andrew Darby ½ round 56.2. The club welcomes Andrew Darby to his first try at long range shooting. Next shoot at Atherton will be Sunday 6th February at 900 Yards starting at 9.00 AM. 

RAVENSHOE/MT GARNET RIFLE CLUB 

January 30: Overcast with rapidly switching winds in Ravenshoe this morning. Results for double 600yds are as follow: F Standard – M. Wilson 115.6, L. Wilson 114.5. F Open: P. Padgett 113.3. F/TR – B. Gianasi 114.8. 

Sunday 6 February: double 600 yards. 9am muster for 9.30am start. 

ATHERTON GOLF CLUB WEEKLY ROUNDUP 

AUSSIE DAY 26th Wednesday Sporters played a 2 Ball Ambrose over 13 Holes. We had a great field of 43 players. 

Winners on 41 nett were Porky Seawright and Irish, runner up Scott Whybird and Gary Toshach 41.7 nett, 3rd J. Bochow and Max 42.4 nett 

NTPs, 3&18 Porky, 9 Broads 

Wednesday 26th Jan Australia Day Medley Stableford was sponsored by Carrington Hotel. Winning with 40 pts was Corey Woodgate with Kev Morris r/up with 39 pts. Pin shot went to Nick Smith on 11. 

Thursday Ladies s/ford sponsored by the club, was played by 18 great ladies on a very heavy course after heavy downpours on Wednesday. Winning with a lovely 36 pts was Emily McEwan with r/up going to Rhonda Carey with 29 pts on a c/back to Heather Beaven. Pin shots went to 3 Lorraine Doolan. 9 Abby McEwan and 2nd shot on 18 Michelle Pearsall. 

Next week is a s/ford sponsored by the Frond Cafe & Gallery 

Saturday 29/1/22 - Seven ladies played and walked in heavy conditions. Winning with a great 38 pts was Kerry Williamson and r/up went to Abby McEwan with 30 pts. Pin shot 3 & 11 Kerry Williamson and 9 & 18 Emily mcEwan. 

A field of 25 men braved the very heavy conditions. Winner with a good 38 pts was Justin Cifuentes on countback from Gary Tudehope, 3rd Robert Close 37 pts.

Andersons Flooring and Window Coverings Saturday player of the year update. 

Dan Ardley 96 pts holds the lead, Tom McEwan in the top 20 over the last 3 weeks is 2nd on 78 pts and Big Barney 3rd on 72 pts 

Atherton Junior Golf will be conducting a MYGOLF Come and Try Junior golf Day on Sunday 6th February 2022 between 08:30 am – 10:30 am, at the Atherton Golf Club. 

All children between the 5 – 17 years of age are welcome.
