The non-denominational couple have been travelling Australia since 1991, walking across the country with Mr Moody bearing the weight of a 22kg wooden cross.

“We walk the cross through the forgotten towns and minister to the lost, broken and hurting people,” Mr Moody said.

“I live by the faith, I’ve never begged, I’ve never gone hungry, but I have gotten thirsty.

“Every day I get up and say ‘where to now God?’, and I hear his voice and follow.”

One of the Moody’s biggest journeys across Australia to date was a trek from Port Douglas all the way to Ingham in 1998, carrying the cross all the way.

Now the couple will be venturing up to Cooktown for their next journey in Queensland.
