The Far North Volunteers also received the VAC of the Year, with the entire group putting in over 2000 volunteer hours combined to promote the cause.

Mr Bosnic said it was great to see local volunteers recognised on a state level and thanked all volunteers for their hard work over the past 12 months.

“It was an outstanding year thanks to the committee and of course, most importantly, the volunteers,” he said.

“We organise a lot of events, but if it wasn’t for the volunteers, we wouldn’t have been able to achieve it all.”
