Cynthia Haig was given the honour to cut the anniversary cake during the celebration, with the 84-year-old being a member of the Forsayth branch for 60 years.

Cynthia was presented with a special QCWA service badge to recognise her 60 years of membership.

QCWA Forsayth branch president Veronica Loudon said everyone joined in on the day’s celebrations and bought lots of tickets in the cent sale.

“We are hoping to use the funds raised towards finishing off the fence around the QCWA hall,” she said.

“It is the only hall in town and is used by the council, government agencies and for many general community activities.

“Unexpectedly, a tourist dropped in from South Australia who was a CWA member and donated $10, and a Sydney visitor, whose mother was a CWA member, also donated $10.”
