Supporting The Express
Contributions Terms and Conditions
The Express (‘us’, ‘we’, ‘our’) would like to provide an opportunity for supporters (‘you’, ‘your’, ‘contributor’, ‘supporter’) in Australia to make a financial contribution (‘contribution’, ‘gift’) to our business and thereby support our commitment to locally owned and operated independent news.
These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between The Express and the supporter, including the terms on which contributions may be accepted, refused, or returned by us. Contributions will only be accepted in the form of either a one-off payment or recurring payments made directly to us as described in these Terms and Conditions.
1. AGREEMENT
By making a contribution, a contributor agrees and acknowledges that:
1.1 The contribution is provided to us as an irrevocable gift, subject to any exercise of the contributor’s right to receive a refund as described below and our right to return any contribution at our discretion;
1.2 Your contribution will be used by us to support our operations; and
1.3 The contribution is made subject to these Terms and Conditions, which shall constitute a legally binding agreement between you and us, entered into by each party in consideration of the other’s obligations under these Terms and Conditions.
2. RECURRING CONTRIBUTION PAYMENTS
2.1 A contributor who wishes to make recurring contributions agrees to pay their selected contribution amount on a rolling basis.
2.2 Recurring contribution amounts can be changed via the “My Contributions” tab in your online account at https://keep-the-express-independent.raiselysite.com/login. The new amount will be billed from the next recurring date.
2.3 The contributor’s payments will be taken on a rolling basis unless it is ended by either of us.
3. MANAGING CONTRIBUTIONS
3.1 All contributions to us will be made through the support page on the The Express website.
3.2 Contributors shall have no rights to influence the editorial policy or output of The Express.
3.3 Contributors who make a contribution receive no benefit in return for this gift.
3.4 Gifts to us are not charitable donations under the laws of the states and territories of Australia and contributions are not tax deductible.
4. REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS
4.1 We reserve the right to refuse any contribution at our own discretion.
4.2 Any refused and/or returned contributions shall be repaid into the account from which the contribution was made.
4.3 You will be entitled to receive a refund of your gift for up to 14 days after receipt of payment by notifying us by email accounts@portasea.com.au.
4.4 Recurring contribution amounts can be changed via the “My Contributions” tab in your online account at https://keep-the-express-independent.raiselysite.com/login. If you require assistance contact accounts@portasea.com.au. We will respond as soon as possible.
