50 years of NAIDOC
A COMMUNITY event will be held at the Mareeba Turf Club next week for the 50th anniversary of NAIDOC Week.

With the theme “50 years of deadly”, this year’s celebrations running from 5-12 July will focus on honouring the strength, culture, stories, and legacy of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
On offer at the event, which runs from 11am-3pm on Wednesday 8 July, will be haircuts, merchandise and much more, including special guests Normey Jay and Bush Tucker Bunjie.
Youth art on show
TO kick of NAIDOC week, PCYC Mareeba is holding an art show highlighting a variety of art pieces completed by youth that have been attending its Club and Culture program.
The free event, which all are welcome to attend, will be held at the Mareeba International Club this Friday from 3pm-6.30pm. Tea, coffee, and a light meal will also be provided to attendees.
