Action-packed finals for Summer 6’s

MAREEBA United Football Club’s Summer 6s competition has concluded with a strong turnout and a series of tightly-contested Grand Final matches, closing out the season on a high.

Large crowds gathered at Borzi Park on Friday night to watch teams battle for the 2025 titles, with players delivering fast-paced football and strong displays of sportsmanship throughout the evening.

In the Men’s A Grade, Tunesquad defeated Pineapple Express 4-3 in one of the night’s closest contests.

The Ladies A-Grade, The Chicks, secured a convincing 5-1 win over Footloose, while the Men’s B Grade, The Barras, claimed victory over Biggest Cakes after a tense penalty shootout, finishing 5-5 at full time and went on to win the penalty shootout 7-6.

The club extended its thanks to all players, referees, volunteers, supporters and families who contributed to the smooth running and community spirit of this year’s competition.

With Summer 6s now complete, MUFC turns its attention to the upcoming FQPL season, with the Mareeba Bulls Men’s and Ladies squads beginning preseason preparations.

The club encourages anyone interested in joining to make contact and connect with coaching staff.
