Activities for youth
YOUNG people in the Tablelands region can advance their skills in the arts through the local council’s Youth Week activities next month.

Tablelands Regional Council has multiple free artistic workshops on offer this month for the young demographic, one being ukulele lessons and the other the design of creative elements for the Atherton Show.
Learn ukulele with the Tablelands Ukulele Group
Join the Tableland Ukulele Group for two free and fun workshops that brings local music lovers together.
Whether you’re just starting out or a seasoned player, this drop-in session welcomes players of all abilities.
Attendees can borrow a spare ukulele if they do not have their own, thanks to support from the Regional Arts Development Fund.
The first workshop will be held from 1pm-3.30pm on 11 April at the Old Post Office Gallery, Atherton.
The second will be held from 1pm-3.30pm on 12 April at the Ravenshoe Mountain Institute (24 Moore Street).
Artist workshops for youth
The artist workshops aim to engage young people in the design and creation of creative elements for the Enchanted Fields Sensory Space at the Atherton Show.
Locals aged 12-25 are encouraged to attend the free event, with all materials and morning tea provided. However, limited spots are available.
Workshops will be held on 15 and 17 April from 9am-12noon at Merriland Hall, Atherton.
