All eyes to Mitsubishi Classic
FOLLOWING a successful Mareeba Open recently, the Mareeba Golf Club is now gearing up for its second biggest event of the year next weekend – the Mareeba Mitsubishi Classic – where a brand new car valued at $40,000 is up for grabs as an epic Par 3 hole-in-one prize.
Mareeba Mazda and Mitsubishi have been sponsoring the 36-hole strokeplay tournament since 2012 and have offered a car as a hole-in-one prize opportunity each year, however, a player is yet to walk away with the keys to a brand new Mitsubishi.
This year’s tournament is expected to see around 100 players battling it out on the course, with 70-80 people already registered to date.
The vehicle on offer this year is a 2025 Mitsubishi ASX Exceed. Many other great prizes are also on offer, with a $4,500 prize pool courtesy of Golf World Cairns.
Food and drink will also be available over both days, thanks to catering from Crime Stoppers Mareeba.
Entries for the Classic are now open and any golfer with a handicap is eligible to play. To register, visit www.mitournament.com/tournament/login. Entries close Monday 11 May.
