Art and poetry come together
INSPIRED by poems, lyrics and writings, old and new, members of the Tableland Region Art Society (TRAS) is holding an exhibition of works at the Tableland Regional Gallery.
Organiser Alison Faigniez said the group had used a variety of mediums and styles to “distil the essence of the poetic vision” to create Anthology, and would also be holding activities throughout the exhibition, which runs until the end of July.
The first such activity was the official opening on 3 July, which was a meet-the-artists event with live entertainment and refreshments.
A book corner will also offer interesting reading material related to the exhibited works throughout July.
Other events during the Anthology exhibition include an interactive wall art project at the Atherton Library, a poetry circle at the gallery with a morning tea on Saturday 18 July, and a literary and art- focused trivia afternoon.
