Assault charge
POLICE have charged a Julatten man with multiple offences including deprivation of liberty following an altercation in Kuranda recently.
It will be alleged that at around 9.46pm on the day of the incident, police received a call about a 43-year-old Julatten man assaulting a 48-year-old Kuranda man and breaking a window.
Police arrived shortly after and located the Kuranda man with a head injury. The 43-year-old man was allegedly located in the yard of the address refusing to let the injured man leave the house.
The Julatten man was arrested and transported to the Mareeba Watchhouse where he was charged with seven offences including two counts each of assaults occasioning bodily harm and wilful damage, and one count each of deprivation of liberty and obstruct police.
