Attacker charged
DETECTIVES have arrested a man they allege attacked 78-year-old Joe Manitta in Mareeba in broad daylight outside the IGA in late June.

It will be alleged around 12.45pm on 26 June, Mr Manitta was allegedly assaulted by another man at a carpark on Atherton Street, outside the entrance to the IGA.
The 78-year-old sustained two broken arms, a fractured cheekbone, broken nose, internal bleeding and lacerations to the face and lower body.
The offender allegedly fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival.
Following lengthy police investigations, the offender was arrested and charged last Thursday.
He has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and is due to appear before the Mareeba Magistrates Court on 20 August.
