Australian icon inbound
ONE of Australia’s most beloved artists will be in action at Savannah in the Round this year, with Missy Higgins rounding out the already iconic headlining lineup.

Higgins will join headliners Don McLean, Icehouse, and USAs Tyler Braden at the rapidly growing festival, which will be held from 8-11 October. Also named in the third and final artist announcement was Furnace and the Fundamentals and rising country talent Bella Mackenzie.
Higgins is widely loved for her songwriting capabilities, boasting hit tracks such as Scar, Futon Couch, The Special Two, Steer, and A Complicated Truth.
Her 32 ARIA Award nominations and seven ARIA Number 1s – so far – have blazed a trail for female artists in Australia, with her debut album The Sound of White (2004) hitting Number 1 and going on to achieve multi-platinum status.
Higgins marked a new chapter in her career in 2024 when she released The Second Act, which debuted at Number 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart 20 years to the day after her debut album.
She then hit the road touring with her new album, which she wrote, produced, and performed largely on her own, winning her the public-voted ARIA Award for Best Live Act – on the night when she was inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame.
With more than 60 artists set to perform across the four-day event, festival director James Dein said the addition of Higgins was the perfect way to round out the final artist announcement.
“Having Missy join us in Mareeba adds another layer to an already strong program,” he said.
“She is one of Australia’s most celebrated musicians, and we are really excited to add her to the program.”
Savannah in the Round will return to the Mareeba Rodeo Grounds (Kerribee Park) from 8-11 October, bringing together live music across multiple stages, camping, food, and entertainment such as the Great Northern Bullriding Series.
