Authors to tell their tales
READERS, book lovers and aspiring writers are invited to engage in a morning of conversation, inspiration and storytelling when two acclaimed Australian authors visit Mareeba Library for a special event later this month.

Hosted by Bowerbird Publishing in partnership with Mareeba Library, the event will feature authors Robin Leven (Atherton) and environmental advocate and novelist Jeremy Tager (Topaz), who will share the stories behind their latest books, their writing journeys, and the experiences that inspired their work.
Robin Leven’s debut novel, Motorcycle Musing, takes readers on an exhilarating motorcycle adventure across Australia. What begins as a nostalgic road trip from Far North Queensland to Mount Panorama soon evolves into a gripping tale of friendship, freedom and unexpected challenges.
Joining her is Jeremy Tager, author of the award-winning novel Shaking the Trees, a powerful contemporary story that explores climate change, family relationships, activism and the enduring impacts of war.
Through a compelling multi-generational narrative, Jeremy examines how personal choices intersect with global challenges, creating a thought- provoking and deeply human story.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear directly from both authors, ask questions, gain insight into the publishing process and purchase signed copies of their books.
The free event is on 30 July from 10.30am-11.30am at the Mareeba Library. Morning tea will be provided courtesy of Bowerbird Publishing and the library.
