Ball raises $30,000
THOUSANDS of dollars were raised at the Black Cockatoo Gala Ball recently which will allow the foundation to continue the important work it does around mental health.
The event raised $30,000, mainly through its auction which featured donated prizes from numerous businesses in Mareeba.
One of the evening’s highlights was an inspiring and thought-provoking speech by Dr Tahnee Bridson that reminded patrons why the ball was such an important fundraising event.
The Black Cockatoo Foundation was founded in May 2022 in memory of Dr Mark Bestmann.
