Bandits wrap up season
THE Mareeba District Cricket Club capped off its season with a celebratory presentation evening at the Mareeba Leagues Club recently.

The evening highlighted the strength of the Bandits’ player pathway system, which continues to nurture young cricketers from the Blast program right through to first grade.
The club’s achievements this season reflected that commitment, with many of the young rising stars taking home major awards.
More than 150 attendees filled the venue, representing every level of the club from the youngest Blast boys and girls to senior men’s and women’s teams. The celebration brought the entire Bandits family together to acknowledge another year of growth, dedication, and club spirit.
The club extended heartfelt thanks to its valued sponsors, whose ongoing support makes the Bandits’ continued development possible. Special recognition was also given to the sponsors and invited guests who attended the event to present trophies and awards.
A significant moment of the evening was the club’s farewell to outgoing president Irene Roy, who was honoured for her many years of tireless work rebuilding and strengthening the Mareeba Bandits. Irene now looks forward to spending more time with her family, though the club hopes to see her around the cricket fields in the years to come.
The night concluded with the exciting reveal of the Bandits’ new playing kit and updated club logo – a fresh branding that will help give the club a professional edge heading into future seasons.
