Barron River took to the pitch to bat first and put up a score of 164 runs before being all out after 37.2 overs.

Mareeba bowler Greg Misener proved lethal with ball-in-hand, taking four wickets in his eight overs, notching up a maiden and an economy of just 2.12 runs per over.

Young Bandit Ryan Jaszczyszyn had himself a highlight after taking Barron River’s third-in batsman for a golden duck.

Coming out to bat in the second innings, Mareeba opener Tristan Lopez got his side off to a good start, scoring 22 from 19.

Mareeba couldn’t keep the ball rolling, however, with a 14 off 17 from Ben Jones and a 19 off 42 from Kye Harris being the next best scores.

The Bandits managed to put up a score of 104 before being all out after 29.2 overs.

This Saturday, Mareeba will face up against Mulgrave from 12.30pm at Borzi Park, Mareeba, and Atherton with take on Rovers from 12.30pm at Loder Park, Atherton also on Saturday.
