Big street clean-up planned

VOLUNTERS of the Atherton Enhancement Group are gearing up for a big clean-up in Mabel Street.

The event, which has been registered with Clean Up Australia, will be held on Sunday from 8am-10am.

Organisers say that by registering this event nationally, the group is demonstrating the “incredible community involvement that Atherton is known for”.

“Every bit of effort helps us prove that our town is ready for the ‘Tidy Town’ spotlight,” they said.

“Let’s focus on the positive, roll up our sleeves, and show some pride in our streets. Whether you can stay for 20 minutes or the full two hours, every hand makes a difference.”

The meeting point is the bus stop on the corner of Main and Vernon Streets.
