The best pie on the Tablelands

The Express Newspaper is celebrating 10 years of delivering news to the Tablelands and as part of our celebrations, we are looking for “The best of the Tablelands” and for the past week, we have been taking your votes on the best Meat Pie.

After hundreds of votes, Express readers have voted the Tolga Bakery in Main St as having the best Meat Pie on the Tablelands!

Owner of the Bakery Roland Valintine “It’s a very pleasant surprise that we won this award, it’s very humbling,” he said.

“Everything is made by hand with locally sourced products, we get our meat from the Yungaburra Butchery, and without good meat, you don’t get good meat pies.

“Consistency is a big part of what we do; we try to do it the best we can every time.”

Mr Valintine also extended his thanks to his amazing staff, including two other bakers who he credited the award too.

The best of the Tablelands now continues and we are now looking for the Tablelands best Pub.
