The event marked an important step forward for the club and highlighted the continued growth of football in Mareeba. Mareeba Shire Mayor Angela Toppin congratulated the club’s committee, volunteers, and supporters for their dedication and commitment in helping deliver the new facilities.

She said the two new dressing rooms, which had not received an upgrade in over 20 years, would greatly improve the experience for players and visiting teams alike.

The upgrades were made possible through a $266,000 grant the club received in early 2024. The new facilities will provide modern, comfortable, and functional spaces for players to prepare before matches and training.

The development will also support the club’s growing membership base and allow Mareeba United to better host competitions and visiting teams from across the region.

Club representatives said the dressing rooms represent a significant investment in the future of the club and will contribute to the continued development of both junior and senior football programs.
