Mareeba Sire Council awarded a tender to Pioneer North Queensland to supply and lay 35mm of asphalt overlay on the juddering section of Rankin Street at a cost of $234,000.

The project will involve the use of 720 tonnes of asphalt.

Council was also advised that a particularly rough patch of bitumen on Walsh Street, caused by repairs to a water main, would be fixed soon.
