Busy time for catchment group

LONG-established Tablelands river group, Barron Catchment Care, has just welcomed a new catchment coordinator to fill a gap in the group’s community engagement activities.

The next few weeks and months will be a time of increased activity for members of the group.

“Plans are being developed and tasks activated following a meeting earlier this month,” Barron Catchment Care chair Bryony Barnett said.

November will be a fairly busy month with the group’s Annual General Meeting and 30-year celebration of achievements on 12 November in Atherton, in addition to various ongoing outdoor activities.

Field trips already have been undertaken as part of a planned and informative hands-on drone mapping workshop that is scheduled for 19 November.

“Our experienced drone operator and presenter has completed mapping exercises on two local properties in preparation for the workshop to demonstrate the value of drone mapping in farm planning,” Ms Barnett said.

Anyone wishing to become a member or support the Barron Catchment Care group should contact Ms Barnett on 0407 115 402.
