Call out for Mareeba Shire recipes
MAREEBA Shire Council is calling on the community to submit their favourite recipe, which could be featured in A Shared Table cookbook celebrating Local Government Association of Queensland’s 130th anniversary.

“Fantastic cooking comes down to having access to delicious fresh produce, and in the Mareeba Shire, we are so lucky to produce some of Australia’s best,” Mareeba Shire Mayor Angela Toppin said.
“We have been invited to submit a recipe to be featured in a Queensland-wide cookbook, which will include a recipe from different local council areas.”
Mareeba Shire is home to 75 different cultural backgrounds, creating a diverse and colourful palette of flavours and dishes.
If there is a family recipe passed down through the generations, or a restaurant with a signature dish, or a great home cook speciality, chances are they could be selected for inclusion.
Recipes are to be submitted by 14 June. For more information visit Mareeba Shire Recipes on the council’s website.
